In 1990, and after an already lengthy and successful career as a singer in her own right, Maxine entered into the first ever series of Granada TVs Stars In Their Eyes.  She won the first episode's heat, and went on to win the first ever Grand Final of the series.

From that moment on, Maxine Barrie became the household name she remains to this day, revelling in a warmth with the public few major stars enjoy.

Her unmistakeable 'Basseyisms', the accuracy of her portrayal, have made Maxine arguably the most famous impersonator in the world.
